Where should I post for trying to get a sound.. from a specific record....There is this amazing acoustic guitar recording in Oasis "Go let it out". Im just curious where I should ask "how could I get this?". Thank you -Brian

I dig Oasis' songs, and I like the Liam Gallagher's voice, but I usually have a hard time with their sonics. The acoustic on that song sounds like it's high-passed somewhere ridiculous, like 2kHz ![]() If someone asked me to make an acoustic guitar sound like that, I'd say no. But at the same time, I'd recommend Nashville stringing, where you basically string the guitar with the light half of a twelve string set. Should get you in the ballpark, and sound better at the same time. Nashville tuning is a good way to get the sound of an acoustic guitar in a full band mix since it takes up less room

haha. It sounds so nice and clear to my ears..You think it's just a high pass filter that makes it sound so full? Will try both things out. thank you...

Well, it doesn't sound that full to me, but maybe that's why it sounds so clear to you. Really try Nashville tuning. It's v. good.

Now, of each pair, take off the larger of the two (the one closer to the ceiling). What you're left with is "Nashville" tuning. But, of course, you can put them on a six-string. a search turned this up: http://www.tabcrawler.com/articles.p...le&articleid=1 Just make sure you don't leave your guitar strung like that for an extended period of time, since the neck won't be seeing the forward tension that it wants. | |
