Lots of new addition this aes..

Crane Song came out with his new 500 series compressor: the Falcon.

Dave Hill introducing it at the aes 2012 in SF:

Looks very interesting..as every piece that Dave does.

I have 2 API 527 and I'm really happy with them. I use it on all my Drum Buses, also on acoustics guitars and sometimes as master bus compressor. I think it's a really versatile unit. I love Thrust control!

Lots love for the Purple Action here, one of the best compressors for making drums punch through the mix, its kind of like a 500 series alternative to a Distressor, although not as versatile. Works particularly well for parallel compressing kick and snare.

The BAC500 is also really good as a tracking compressor, and is pretty much the closest thing to a 1176 in the 500 series format that ive heard. Liking it on vocals and bass especially.

Also really liking the Chandler Little Devil compressor, really nice and thick sounding unit.

True. Puple's Action is a great compressor too. Love it on rooms and vocals!
