I've used Essences w/o any issue (amazing comp by the way) I think that since they are double wide, the voltage load is split between 2slots so they are fine & shouldn't cause any issue

I have a couple in a lunchbox and they are fine. But be warned these draw a LOT more currant then is recommended. As to what I think, they should just make their own power supply instead of marketing them to the 500 format. Or get the current draw within VPR Alliance specs.

This is incorrect information.

The Buzz Essence compressor draws 120 mA across two slots (it states this in the online pdf manual, and the online information page on the Buzz Audio website). That's 60 mA per slot since its double wide. The current API 6b is 215 mA per slot. So that's 70% less power required per slot than what the API provides.

This is correct information.

yes yes yes
I was thinking of the elixir that is so power hungry and outside of the VPR Alliance specs.
And again as to what I think, they should just make their own power supply instead of marketing them to the 500 format. Or get the current draw within VPR Alliance specs.
Great stuff: ) just what the power draw.

I had two Buzz essence comps in a six slot API rack and it was PERFECT!!!
Also, they were linked per instructions on the Buzz website.

Highly recommended.
