Control Room re-do in L.A.

I'm increasingly dissatisfied with the mushy acoustic tones I'm getting in my carpeted control room, which because of it's peaked ceiling I use for tracking as well. I'm considering going with wood floors and ceiling treatments. Trying to have good mixing acoustics but a livelier sound.

I'm considering using the services of a designer, and have noticed Steve Klein's website. Anybody know of him or work with him? Any other suggestions in the Los Angeles area?

Also, has anyone used bamboo flooring? Seems like a cool idea.

Thanks,
-R

Ken Georres is a great acoustician & designer, I think several others here would concur. PM me if you want his #.
I hear bamboo's good stuff, it's probably going my new rooms later this year.
