Neve Portico 2 strips, DO THEY NEED TO BE SPACED

Neve Portico 2 strips, DO THEY NEED TO BE SPACED or not .
I have seen many photos in magazines where they are not spaced but in the manual it recommends a full slot. Yes No . Why are places not spacing them

I space my pair. It's pretty clear from the design that they are intended to be able to breathe from above -- the top panel on them is perforated. They are not the hottest gear around, but given their price I can't see the point in pushing things by stacking them with no space.

I find them getting pretty hot, particularly the MBP. I space them.

I recommend that spaces be used with any class 'A' gear that generates a significant amount of heat, but often end users don't have the rack 'real estate' to do this. It is generally recommended that you provide airflow and space, however none of the PII pieces generate as much heat as some of the tube gear I own! It also depends on the cooling in your studio, ambient temp, etc..

Best-
Jonathan
