my how time flies and things change...back then I was basement bound with a powerbook and oo2. today it's 2 HD3 rigs, a large format console, a nice collection of mics... and the oo2 is still alive and well with the same powerbook...

Is this automatic? Doesn't seem to be happening for everyone or me.

.
Good stuff, kooz.
Yeah, my monitoring setup has improved tremendously over the past five years - thanks to loads of moving blankets, and my custom built Linkwitz Orion+ dipole mains and Tyler Acoustic Linbrook 5.1 near/midfields (with Linkwitz Orion and Thor crossovers, Emotiva XPA-5s and two sets of custom subs).
My Buzz Audio ARC channel is killer for tracking vocals, acoustic guitars and electric bass. The compressor ROCKS. Best pre and compressor I've ever tracked with.
I've also tested a whole bunch of high end microphones I always wanted to hear, and none of them held up to my $325 Groove Tubes GT-67 MP tube LDC - still my go to mic.
And, I'm tracking the best guitar I've ever tracked in my life - a local custom-built tele with hand wound pickups - crafted by Mo-Tone Guitars here in the Hudson Valley, NY. The thing just sings.

I also tend to be brief in posts. That Tramp Stamp adds a larger area to the post making it look more empty than it already is.

To me the 10 years sounds the best, the 5 years is a bit more sterile and lacks 3D

I thought the 10 year badge was kind of cool. The 5 year, not so much. They become meaningless when they are common place.
Still, it's the thought that counts, I guess.

The "internet world" is very funny. They will respect a graphic sign but will pick up fights with someone not knowing the other person could probably be a award-winner high end professional.
Good job, Gearslutz. |

Good job, Gearslutz. | Exactly...
Could easily mean 5 years of being wrong.
But at least then you are certified wrong...
Are you guys really getting respect for having it?
Proof that 5 years ago you filled out a short registration form... And got the "engineer question" correct.
