Thread Starter | compressors @ <$400/ch
i know this topic has been done to death, but am wanting a fresh perspective... looking at buying two (budget) compressors (not necessarily stereo linkable), for all round tracking... they will be used pre a/d, partly for limiting peaks and partly for getting a thicker sound to disk . don't mind a bit of colouration... obvious choices are fmr rnc dbx 160a ($300/ch) presonus cl44 (about $400 for 4 channels) rnc i want to avoid because of its unbalanced operation and wall wart power supply, tho' it seems to be highly recommended at this price range. the dbx seems like a good, reputable choice. the presonus seems like a really good deal, particularly with the 'vintage optical emulation' mode. but no reviews so far. here in india, i have no 'try before buy' option, have to go by hearsay, hence gearslutz... thanks. jsiyer. |

Why are you posting this in the high end forum? You might get better responses in the "rock and hard disk place" forum.
