Just wanted to start the same thread ... I also tried to reach anyone there for the past 6 months ...Nothing ... Very strange. We have some warranty problem with the preamp etc. I wrote to Jakob quite a few times. No reply ever. I called there many times - nobody answers the phone ... I don't know what to think about it ... I also would like to know what to do ... Weird ...

Same experince. Ordered a G14 in jan. Gave up after several months of waiting. They replied to a few emails when I put in the order. After that they haven't answered. Cancelled the order. Won't be buying any Gyraf audio gear any time soon!

Anyway, if danish telecom is similar to german telecom then there´s no wonder and no hope that communication will work before next year....

Jakob is around for a long time and he has always been a very reliable guy.
I am sure that it is just some of that random shi* that happens from time to time - especially to smaller companies.

If he posted here 3 weeks ago and is on some DIY forum and does not reply to repeated and multiple official product and service requests (by email and telephone) for the last 8 months (although the website does not indicate any change of contacts and people are requested to contact the company if there is a support or product need), I consider it a bit non-standard attitude ... In these day, everybody can easily receive emails (or re-direct the phone or to write a working telephone number on the website at any moment) there is no mystery or special troubles behind it ... I am really perplexed

I see Jakob every day. I'll tell him about this thread.

Feedback Studios was sold and Jakob had to find a new place for his workshop. After finally finding a place there was all the rebuilding, etc.

Besides being the one man company known as Gyraf, Jakob is currently working on his Phd. in robotics and like the rest of us has a family.

You shouldn't draw any conclusions that you'd need to worry about buying any of his products because he hasn't answered his email of late. You wouldn't believe the amount of daily email Jakob receives. He mentioned that because of the move he had something to the effect of unanswered mails in the thousands. He's in the process of trying to catch up. I'm sure it won't take him much longer.

Please ask anyone who's ever needed help about just about anything from Jakob and pretty quickly you'll realize what a stand up guy he his.

Nice to hear that. My experience is that I needed urgent technical support for a customer who bought Gyraf preamp that stopped working. For the last 8 months I kept writing emails, trying to call - no reply ever ... Maybe it will come later. The only thing is that the customer will probably not buy any more Gyraf product ever ... which is a pity. Give him my best regards and tell him he could drop an email sometimes

I have waited a few months for a replacement pilot light bulb for my G14. If Ivos experience is anything to go by, then I guess I am in for a looong wait :-) Does anybody here know the specs for that bulb, btw?? I could probably get it locally...

Jakob did answer my emails like a moth ago, but not since. I dont worry too much.

completely unacceptable.
its the "one man company" thing that usually steers me away from a critical daily use audio product.

On the other hand "one man companies" bring in general the most amazing products that are available around ... Because these "one men" make them with full passion, involvement, taking care of them like their own babies ... Well, sometimes, orphans are left (hopefully only temporarily).

I myself use G14 and G10 on daily basis for many years (these are the only things that I bought long time ago and never changed). I cannot imagine what would happen if any of these fail and no repair and Jakob available ... (sounds like a nightmare

yeah I've got all the Retro gear..small boutique company-one man owned, the owner of the company has the sense to have support from other employees when things get busy/rough.
had an issue with my power strip tube channel last week.
called him on speed dial,he picked up the phone.
hour later he had it shipped back.
fixed/returned withing 5 days.
back to work
same deal with Peter Reardon/Shadow Hills..someone always answers the phone to help.
very reassuring.

First of all, I want to apologize to the people who got massively delayed in this.

We had a nightmare of a moving - cutting down the old studio, and trying to unfold it in new surroundings. And the same with Gyraf hardware production. Pretty much everything that could fail in the process did so.

ps: as for the mentioned problem with future repairability of our units, should our company close down, you shouldn't be too worried - basically all our units can be repaired by any highly-experienced tube tech. AND we have no plans on closing.

As the gyraf.dk seems to still be down, I wonder if there's any other resource from where to get the schematics etc for GSSL and 1176? I'd have to do some debugging of the devices and haven't earlier downloaded the documents.

We had a dns-server outage at our service provider - all is back online again..

edit: but apparently a bit unstable

edit: they have a hardware error - should be fixed within days.
