tips/tricks on getting interesting unique eclectic drum sounds at a home studio

hey guys,
i was reading all the responses to someone asking for input on a great rock drum sound and was thinking this would be great if you would share any creative ideas on getting a off the beaten path drum sound or just something more unique in a eclectic alt rock/trip hop etc sound.
im a drummer and am fairly new to the engineering game but regardeless am digging it and recording in my home studio and it sounds great but am looking for tips using plug ins on room mics etc or interesting mics that are reasonable price wise that you guys love for drum sounds that really help things sound interesting.
my home set up is basically a drumset in a fairly live sounding room w 10 channels on the drums. i have 4 a.p.i. 3124m and then the mackie onyx 8 channel mic pres and am running a 002 protools w extra waves plug ins etc. im hoping to change this soon to 8 channels of a.p.i. but for now thats it.
heres the mics im working with:
i have a tube room mic(s.e. z5600A) and a fet room mic(s.e. z3300a), stereo over heads(rode nt5), kick(sure beta 52) snare top and bottom(57's) x2 toms(421's) and an old school pzm.
unfortunately i dont have tdm plug ins but do have more than whats given w basic l.e. pro tools i.e. waves bundles etc
id love to try some of your ideas out if your o.k. sharing them.
thanks
