Dual channel pre-amp for rock guitars?

Looking for a dual channel pre amp - primarily for adding mojo to my electric guitar tracking. Not looking for crystal clarity, I want a unit with all the character and magic dust a rock guitar signal will ever need.

I have a Solo 610 and a BAE DMP 1073 mic pre, both are fantastic little boxes - but I either need to double up one of these options, or get a whole new dual channel pre amp so I can track in stereo.

Whatever is available to me, my only request is for a line level input option.

What options are out there for my needs?

I've just spent a little bit checking out the TG-2 - looks like a perfect solution... although street price here in Australia is near $3K (ouch!).

I won't cross it off the list, but my budget is around $2000. Anything else I should investigate?

Avedis MA5 (500 series)
Great River MP-2NV
A-Designs Pacifica (or get the P1 in 500 series)

really don't know what you mean by a line input, you mean a DI?

With a line-level input I can directly plug into gear like my Flextone amp, electric keyboards and other pre-amplified sources. Any mic, DI or other hi-z source will get sent through my DMP or 610.

My concern is the signal might be too hot if the unit is a dedicated mic pre-amp, and i'll have no scope for adjustment.

APA Juggernaut twin - a real chameleon of a pre that can take you from Neve-ish iron trannies to the nice bright nickel of an API.

Why not just move up to the BAE 1073MP @ $2k.

A pair of API 512c's will do the trick. I'm mostly a Daking man, but I keep a 512c for that one purpose.

NO!!!!

You want the 1073 mpF.

That filter is an amazing tool when tracking.

I would say it is my favorite preamp. SO damn sweet sounding!

If it's any help, here's a link to a demo guitar instrumental I recorded a while back with my typical guitar sound i'd like to improve on. Guitars are comp'd a bit hard (oh well, just a demo). Recorded through my old 003 rack - I now have a Mackie 820i mixer which for mine sounds/records immeasurably better... but a little extra magic dust won't go astray

If I could find a pre that fits this tone like a glove, then I feel I can pretty much do away with demos and push out for release quality material at will
