Used anamod 660 problem ?

Hi,

When the unit is turned on the meter lights up and the needle moves upto 1 db? Shouldn't it sit at 0db. No input or output are attached !

When input and output are attached it reads 1db also. The compressor seems to work fine tho !

Any ideas anyone, thanks !

Do you have a BAE rack? I'm having the same exact problem...unplug the power connector to the BAE power supply and then replug. Does it work? Check out this thread...

Hi,

No im using the API lunchbox latest version !!

The compressor is working fine, the needle shows gain reduction. But when it' s idle the needle sits a fraction below 1 db on the meter !!

This happens ALL the time with analog meters - usually there is some sort of way to readjust the needle to sit at zero - a tiny hole under the meter where you let the unit warm up then adjust the meter up/down to zero. Doesn't necessarily indicate any sort of issue with your 660

Same thing happens with my Purple Audio MC77, you just align / calibrate and move along... not sure on the Anamod though.

Specifically, there's usually a screw that mechanically aligns the needle. I don't see where it is on the Anamod. If your meter is like the one on the Anamod website, then I know I've seen it before. I just don't remember the manufacturer. It was fairly pricey, and was a British company or distributor. I'm pretty sure I saw them as part of a design on something over at the groupDIY website. You might want to ask someone over there.

My first response when I read it earlier was just, turn the zero point adjust screw, but it doesn't look like it has one, not exposed anyway. Maybe there's a pot inside it for that.

Maybe Dave Amels will jump in, or you could email Anamod.

Sounds like the previous owner messed with calibration pot inside. Just adjust it back to zero. There's only one pot.
