Thread Starter | Any component differences between Flea snd Wunder mics?
My understanding is that Wunder purchases the kits for these mics from Flea. Flea is substantially cheaper then Wunder. Does anyone know what the differences might between these mics? Capsule...tube...PSU?

If I had the choice of Wunder or FLEA, I would get a FLEA.

Hi John. I apprecite your quick response. Is your response based on character preference or difference in price? I realize the Wunder is more money. If each mic were equal in price would you still choose the Flea? I am currently evaluating the CM7 and CM49. Realy digging these mics. especially, the CM7. Sounds fantastic on vocals and acoustic guitar. My plan is to demo the Fleas at some point as well. I've already been in dicussion regarding this. However, I'm enjoying this CM7 so much I don't want it to leave |

Also the fact that they took four years to clone the capsule of the C12 and understand it to a very fine degree - the fact that the first batch of C12 capsules were very very slightly out, so they scrapped the whole batch and started again (most would have let it go because it was so small - FLEA re-did the batch). Just impressed with their dedication and quality. And the lower price is more likely because they are based in Slovakia where costs are far far lower than the USA. | |
