I second the awesome hotel comment. I have seen the pictures and been told that it's a great place. Just be sure to heavily hydrate before going; Tucson in June is hotter than hot.

I'll be there, of course, it's only a couple hour's drive from PHX!

Last year was awesome, I'm looking forward to another great Con.

Sierously about the heat....don't take it lightly. You'll be passed out on the sidewalk before you know it.

I'm not sure if I'll make it or not....

For real. Drink at least twice what is normal, (water mind you, everything else is a bonus), wear shade because sunscreen won't matter, and embrace the wisdom of the siesta!! Hopefully you guys will be inside or pool lounging most of the time.

I won't make the TOC as I'll be leading a river trip in Grand Canyon. Seriously, about that heat...

I grew up in Tucson. Don't listen to what everyone is saying about drinking extra water...I say you should stay inside and avoid the sun/heat altogether! That is unless you want skin cancer...then by all means, go outside.

Hmm, how bad can it be? I live in the San Joaquin valley and summers here are often 100+ degrees for several weeks to a month straight! Hell, even this last week it's been close to 90's since Sunday..!

Yeah man, by all means, if it's only gonna be 100, 103, 110 just suffer through it like everyone else. But mark my words: 115, 117, 120...watch your ass. It won't get down to 90 at night if that heat is on. My .02 and I still live here.

EveAnna Manley and I are going to be riding in from Chino, CA... we're going to leave on Wednesday 14 June if anyone would like to join us for a nice little putt across the desert.

From what I understand about the venue it's up in the mountains where it's a good measure cooler than the actual city of Tucson. From what I've heard the venue is a good 1/2 hour+ outside of the city... but I could have shitty information... whadda I know.

I do know that as far as I can tell my transportation will be not only very fun but highly fuel efficient!! ...best part of the whole thing is that AZ has no lid laws!! I love riding au naturale.

Taking the wife and baby to the Paris AES this May - then going solo to San Francisco AES USA later in the year..

So that's all my travel money tapped out for this year. Hopefully Tape Op Con - NEXT year!

Some geekslutz will be getting together Friday night after-hours at my shop for a little margarita sippin' - console tinkerin' - listening party. We're calling the project "The Effects of Cuervo on Analog Console Upgrades."
If you wanna come down for a Gearslutz - Tucson get together, you're all formally invited!

Subspace ~ What kinda' console would we tinkering on? It's some kinda' Trident thing right? I probably not going to have a car out there so if I can snag a ride to & from the hotel I'll try & make it.
