I'm in again this year moderating the Nuendo Panel.
Larry & Craig have to be really sick to hold it in June in TUSCON!!!!!!
I'm British for gods sake! I nearly melted in New Orleans! How the hell did we colonize India!!

I'll be there.

Bob O. is not on a panel? WTF? Although the pea shooter thing may be more entertaining.

I hope Fletcher only gets a sunburned noggin. A motorcycle helmet saved my life........
And there's been too many posts about dead friends. Soapbox mode off.

The best show of the year.

Last year, as an exhibitor and mic stand wrangler, I missed EVERY panel. How do other exhibitors balance booth tending and education/networking?

From what I understand it's up in the mountains where it's warm but not oppressive in June... or so I been told.

I grew up in Tucson. It can still be pretty damn hot even up in the mountains. You have to be careful when riding a motorcycle there because with the air blowing across you, you don't realise that you're (literally) being cooked (learned from experience). Tucson's supposed to hit 100 degrees this week.

Cool, we've got a pair of Trimix systems set up for it, two 24 module frames with 16 inputs in each. Two stock PSUs plus an Acopian for comparison and 8 master modules to tweek differently.
I talked to Craig about transportation and the deal is everybody is going to be shuttled into Tucson Friday night for panels from 7 - 9pm. After that you can walk to Club Congress for live music from 9pm - 2am. The shuttles will run from the club to the hotel and back all the way through 2:30am. So I'll have a car running from the club to the studio and back starting right after the panels let out. No wheels required to drop in for a visit.

I was up at El Conquistador Saturday night as it happens, and it's not really in the mountains, it's in the foothills on the side that faces away from Tucson. You'll have to drive up another 3000 feet or so to get a real temperature drop. Nice pool... IBM was having an event there with a live pool-side band... as a sound dude, that always makes me a bit nervous...

I couldn't go, I would melt like the wicked witch of the west. It hasn't hit 70 here by the beach since January, I couldn't take the extreme climate shift. I would become extinct like the wooley mammoth. Besides, I'd have to shave off all my body hair so I could sweat cleanly.

Say hello to my buddy Mark Lindsay (Paul Revere and the Raiders), he lives there now.

P.S. When they decide to have one of these in a closer or cooler neighborhood, I'll go.

Chuck's not the only one from Sweetwater that will be there! I'll be manning the Sweetwater booth, and will be on the Pro Tools LE panel.

Last year was a good one.... I shall be there this year showing a compressor or two, and doing some research with a strange monitor loudspeaker.
Did somebody mention that it's a little warm in Tucson?

Hey Doug,

I'll be there. I'm staying next door at the Holiday Inn--a tad cheaper and they still have non-smoking rooms!

Any Gearslutz interested in working on a group rate? Or has everyone signed up under Pro Sound Web?

Eben

[edit: I've got a group rate for the convention registration going if there's any interest--$250. E-mail me if you'd like a registration form.]

I had a blast 2 years ago (thx to the crew @ Mercenary Audio). I can't make it this year, but I hope to next year. The potluck recording workshop looks very interesting.
