eventide 2016 plug vs hardware?

Just wondering anyone had compare the two? Big difference?

I was thinking of getting the hardware, but it would not do 96K digtal, plus its does not have AES I/O. I know i can use its analog I/O with an analog insert in PT for 96k mixing. But i was worrying if there is noise from its analog I/O. Hence, I am thinking about the plug-in...

but I do notice there are quite a few of 2016 plug-ins floating around in the 2nd hand section...do it implies the plug is not that good?

Any opinions....

Sorry I can't help with the plugin, never used it. I do have the 2016 hardware, and can tell you the analog I/O is not noisy at all. That's how I use it. Very nice unit, unique sounds and incredibly easy to set up.

As for plugs, I haven't seen a lot of them For Sale at GS, but I've seen a lot of Want To Buy ad's.

I've browsed the Bay and other places before in search of it,
that's why I asked where you'd seen any.

I have both, and I prefer the hardware, using the analog I/O. It's got a nice color to the sound.

The plug is also good, with some nice presets. If you like 2016 reverb, you'll be fine with either, but the box is richer, and seems to have a bit less through-put latency.
