Anyone using a Sonic Core "Scope" DSP Audio Platform?

Looks to be an audio interface/converter/DSP box. Going to check it at NAMM this weekend to see. But wondering if anyone here is using one.

The SCOPE DSP Audio Platform
Yes, there's a few of us Scope users here.
Xite is a great unit.

I'll be at the Soniccore booth off-and-on all weekend, so maybe I'll meet you there.
This past week SC announced the new open Scope 6 as well as co-development with audiobiscuit DAW - so you can be one of the first to see it in action.

See you there,

Greg

Another user here... Scope is the hearth of my studio, and i really dont know what i would do without it.
-Latency free monitoring/synths/fx
-Endless routing possibilities from one daw to another, to and from mixers/synths etc etc

I love it

I used to be a user in the late 90s... it was amazing back then... but the financial fiasco occurred... and bankruptcy and then delays with 64 bit... I finally gave away my 20 something total SHARCs.

Back in the day, it was the only way I could get GIGASAMPLER to talk to SONAR... using the SCOPE audio tools... also, I remember the MOOG as being one of the best soft synths I ever heard....

Then, all development stopped for YEARS (and I mean YEARS)... no sense in going backward now... NATIVE and UAD are all I need for my ITB stuff.

After last CreamWare bakruptancy, the technology was acquired by some of the former developpement team with a new company named SonicCore.

The developpement on Scope was kind of stopped during the 2nd CreamWare period (where the effort was made more on ASB rather than on Scope).

They restart developpement to get the Xite-1 out providing PCIe interface instead of PCI with much more DSP power.

I started using Scope PCI back in 2006. And PCI cards being produced back in 1998 still work as long as you have PCI slots.
This system provide an original solution to achieve latency free features by handling the I/O directly through the DSPs which are in charge of the plug-in. Flexible routing is also provided.

I now also have an Xite-1 and it's just a pleasure to use it.
The new Open Scope announcement would probably be the solution to the everlasting new host OS run ... and would also provide a way to get better DAW integration.

Yeah SCOPE absolutely rocks. I use the XITE as well as the PCI cards on a single system using ADAT. And with the new ParseQ/Open Scope scenario it may become possible to use them in tandem from the sequencer itself without even needing ADAT.

It's amazing I'm still able to use 12 year old technology fully integrated with the latest. The sound of John Bowen's Pro-Wave from the cards is smooth and beautiful.

Another happy XITE-1 user here. Been using Scope cards since 2000, so when I got the chance of a 40% off deal from Sonic Core I jumped at it: absolute no-brainer for me.

I think that people don't really understand it. It's more than an ITB solution, as it's also great for integrating external gear. With the new Open Scope idea and Parseq things are looking up. I hope that I can replace Cubase with Parseq eventually and be totally Scope-orientated.

I think it's great to have the extra flexibility of being inside the box, while also being outside the box, while also being inside the box.

Great stuff!

How is XITE1 compared to the Metric Halo ULN8 in sound quality and character processing options ?

Any ADAT/analog converter should provide you 16 extra analog I/O in addition to the alreadly Xite-1 on board 2 XLR analog I/O and 2 front panel pre-amp inputs.

An XLR AES/EBU to analog converter could provide 2 extra analog I/O channels.

And finally adding an A16 Ultra would allow using 16 extra analog I/O channels in case you can find an A16 Ultra (no more in production) by using the Z-Link interface (the smaller Luna 2496 I/O box wouldn't work as they need power supply through Z-link and the Xite-1 doesn't provide power supply with Z-Link. Sadly, the newer version Ferrofish A16 MK II does not provide Z-Link but could be used as an ADAT to analog converter.

The A16 Ultras are now upgraded with LCD VU front panel, and are being built by Ferrofish (affiliated with Sonic Core).

The A16 also now has MADI interface for potential future expansion.

It is already possible to use the A16 MK II built in MADI interface to stack up to 4 A16 Mk II to offer 64 analog I/O but then you need to use an alternate host interface (SSL MadiXtreme 64 or RME HDSPe MADI) rather than the Xite-1 (and hence loose the DSP) as the Xite-1 does not provide MADI (yet).

I also do not think there is any affiliation link between SonicCore and Ferrofish (except that Juergen Kindermann, Ferrofish founder in 2010 was also a co-founder of SonicCore back in 2007).
