Thread Starter | large fet condcer recommendations: $2000 budget
hi guys, my name is ant, i live in australia and have a studio that i am slowly fitting out. next on my list to buy if a a large fet condenser with multipattern. I will be using for myself and other clients mainly for vox but also for anything else (drums, acoustic, room mics, bv's, piano, etc). i already have a rode classic 2 (tube condenser with multi patterns) so i'm looking for something to compliment this as a differnet option - particularly on voice! my budget is about $2000US My current setup includes: digi 002 isa 428 (plus d/a converter option) 6176 sebtron quad pre tl audio 5051 rnc stere compressor dynaudio bm6a's rode classic 2 rode k2 lo9t of 57's, beta 52, etc Just wondering what people might suggest - any help would be great. NOTE: being in austrlia i just dont get to access a variety of mics so flying blind on this overseas purchase. lets see how we go!! look forward to seeing what anyone can suggest cheers ant |

for what it's worth i'm a huge fan of the microtech gefell umt70s mic. it was my main mic for years and used it on everything from lead vocals to guitars to drum overheads. it's a gorgeous, very full sounding mic... and it fits your budget. ******//www.gefell-mics.com/grp_2_prod_2.htm
