Lexicon's Nobody Special

Hello everyone,
I hope those with Lexicon questions will find their way to this thread. I have been absent for a couple of months. I was working hard, fixing bugs and trying to get some new work done. I'm afraid I wasn't able to get to Gearslutz. I apologize for the inattention your questions received.

Today marks the end of my identity as 'Nobody Special' and it also marks the end of my long association with Lexicon. I won't go into any details here, but I hope you'll be able to get information and assistance from someone else who remains with the company. I've had the great satisfaction of making reverbs for nearly 20 years and other Lexicon products for several years before that. I hope those efforts have been useful to you all as you make music of whatever sort you prefer.

I honestly do not know what you'll see from Lexicon from here on out. There are many talented people who remain in Harman, and I hope the company sees fit to put them to work inventing new 'verbs and FX. As far as technical questions go, I might be able to answer a few here and there, but I ask that you contact the company directly whenever possible.

Many of you have known who's behind the pseudonym. My real name was (and still is) Michael Carnes. You may see me around here under that name from time to time, but I'll be just one of the folks. Thanks for your support, your comments and your questions over the last few years. RIP Nobody Special.

Good Luck

The Lexicon PCM Native is a giant leap in plug-in reverbs. Great job.

Wow... I kind of expected a huge bit of information after not seeing you on the other thread for so long. Then the re-direction to this thread. Lex needs to get someone onboard to communicate in as intelligent and effective manner as you have done on GS. I am sure your talent will not go unused whatever you apply it to.

Bottom line... This sucks for us that needed someone of your caliber in the trenches. Good luck however...

Michael...I am either sorry or happy for you depending on the circumstances behind your departure and the motivation for your move.

Best of luck in your future endeavors and I'm sure we will hear from you again.

That being said,....could you please possibly give us an update on status of the bug fixes for PCM Native Reverb?

Thank you in advance.

Sad that you lost your job, good luck to you. Agree that NS must be retired, and please visit often as you are a welcome presence.

Sad to see that Lexicon does not value their heritage or their talented engineers. They will get no $$$ from me.

Thats a loss for Lexicon...

You had a lot to do with restoring our faith in a company that seemed to have lost touch with its clients.

I thank you again for all your assistance to us with the PCM96. That was a lot to take responsibility for and try to manage- especially on this forum.

Lexicon seems to be losing many of its best people over the years- that can't bode well for the future.

Im sure you will have success with anything you decide to do- class is a valuable commodity.

Best wishes!

Hi again! I hope the NS posts will remain on the board as long as they're useful, but this is the persona I'll be from now on. As you can see from the avatar, I've already gotten rid of that green studio tan.

Thanks for the kind remarks from so many of you.

This kind of worries me about the future development of the PCM native code since it was Michael's baby.

You've been an amazing (and under-appreciated) asset to the forum, Michael. I'm sorry to hear that you're parting ways with your long-time employer.

Let us know what you're up to once you're able to talk about it. And good luck to you! Don't be a stranger to GS.
