Thanx for the high-end lexreverbs. They glue so nicely in a mix and have that expensive sound. If you ever develop your own plugin give the forum-members a hint once you are allowed to do so. Thanks for the work you have done so far, you are SPECIAL to us!

Hi Michael,

thanks for all your previous comments here on GS...

Do you happen to have any idea if we will still see a 64bit version
of Lexicon Native for Windows?

Best regards,
Tobias

That was actually completed some time before I left. It was taking a while to get stuff posted on the web site, so I don't know if it's currently there. As a matter of fact, I'd done some additional work to improve performance and had completed that as well. So there should be a second update available soon.

Of course I had little control of the website before and I have none now. Good luck. I hope it's all there soon.

Good luck in your new life! And many many thanks for giving Gearslutz one of its rare infusions of actual information, an uncommon and much-appreciated treat here in, as Jon Stewart put it, the "Twitscape."

Cheers and best regards!

Well, dare to say, I'll miss Nobody Special.
It was long battle between unsatisfied users of PCM96 and secret Lex guy.
Kind of mystery with style to handle unpleasant issues.
I still love several of my Lexicon reverbs incl. native and hope company will find ways to the future.

Was it the Win x64 version that was completed some time before you left? If so, there's no posting of a Win x64 version as of today. Very troubling and scary that these Lexi plug-ins were so expensive, and now the main programmer (from what I understand) is gone and there still are no Win x64 versions of the PCM Reverb or Effects available.

Can you at least say if Lexicon had any plans before you left to get the Win x64 versions out to customers? That it's taking Lexicon so long, the programmer is gone, and there's still no mention of Win x64 is... really terrifying.

God, I hope Lexicon isn't dropping the ball... again.

Nice to learn who designs these magic algorithms!

Michael,

I had no idea of who you were. I have two beautiful PCM70's and a PCM92.

All of them work flawlessly for me and I have never had any issue with them.

The PCM92 is my personal favorite Lexicon reverb. It is the most natural and supernatural sounding reverb ever made.

At some point I have had experience with most of the high end reverb devices from AMS, Quantec, EMT, Eventide, Kurzweil, and the Lexicons. The 224, the 480, LXP series, 960 and some of the lesser quality sounding units like the Alex, Reflex, PCM80/90 and MPX-1.

I use my effects with a console. I never tried running the PCM92 as a digital plug-in because the convertors are a big part of the sound for me. I mix with my hands and cannot mix ITB. I tried to work ITB but it just doesn't work at all for me or my ears.

Here is my music with the PCM92 at work.

Thanks for helping to create some of the most important tools in the toolbox Michael! Best of luck in your future adventures!

Speaking as the programmer, I can tell you with Win64 stuff was working just fine more than a month ago. It was approved by our test group and should have been up on the website weeks ago. I haven't a clue what's going on over there. Please direct your questions to the service department, since I don't know if there's anyone at Lex actually monitoring this forum.

Michael, I hope things go well for you!
In my opinion, letting go of talented programmers is a bad move and only plays in to the hands of the competition.

Michael, I hope there's some way for you to collaborate with Bricasti now.

I say this as a fan.

That would be a sweet new chapter of this story.

Speaking of all things Lexicon and PCMish...

Anyone have any cool presets for their LexPCM reverbs? I of course tweak mine to taste, but it's a cold hard fact that the presets included with the Lexicon software are some of the most boring plain vanilla sounds -- albeit high quality sounds -- on the planet.

I'd love to hear some of the more in depth, personalized patches people out there are making. Is there a forum anywhere that people post such things?

??

as long as there's speculation as to the future of Mr Carnes...

assuming he wants to stay in the reverb plug business, i'd guess he has a non-compete with Lexicon. probably on the order of 2 years.

during that time, he would be free to develop new reverb plugs, and we'd see them about 2 years from now. and i'd probably buy them.

i just hope they don't have a silly name like "Nobody Spatial".

I tried that, and even pointed to this thread. No answers. Is this normal for Lexicon? Bad support, imho

Just to Nobody Really Special ~

Dear Mr. Michael Carnes,
Thank you so very much for all the service to Lexicon and to all the Q & A Answered in these forums, you have brought about debate, relevance and least though not last conciseness and integrity regarding lexicon (Harman) and the branding thereof.

Through the depths of lexicons long history of algorithms and jousts with Casey, never have I learn't so much, even with the fabulous Mr. Costello joining in the debate.

Your knowledge is indeed historical, and to lose such a voice that "Well I really can't say at the moment" type vibe is a huge loss - Please do answer the odd question here and there, and thank you for devices that have made me not only a better Engineer/Producer, though a more efficient and wealthy one!

My best wishes for you future endeavours!
Regards,
Jeremy Savage
TLB.

P.S I seriously hope Harman can make Lexicon a giant amongst giants yet again.

Thanks for taking the time to write, Jeremy. It was satisfying to be a source of information for Lexicon users and other professionals, and I'm flattered to think I may have actually been helpful once or twice. What happens at Lexicon is of course no longer a direct concern, although I have many friends at Harman: I wish them all well in a challenging corporate environment. I will not be disappearing from this business, so I'll pop into GS once in a while. See you around.
