They are excellent and very versatile; I posted a link to some audio over on the "Steampunk Mics" thread where I used them on OHs, guitars and vocals.

Coles 4050 as overheads, 441 on toms, D12 and 421 on the bassdrum, 421 on the snare.
Alternatively my usual 47 over the kit, 47 front-of-kit and 67 next-to-the-floor-tom mics

V76´s on the top & front 47´s, ÜV300´s on the OH Coles, BAE 1081 on the toms, SHEP 1073 on the BD & Neve 1272 on the snare.

There is also a C12 and an ELAM 301 spread out in the room, forgot what pre´s i had on those.

Nice sounding kit!

Here's a raw sample

Minimal processing, some compression, no EQ, mixed with top mic and a bit of snare and kick.
Thanks automata, sounds great! I'm going to have to give this a try

I'd really like to hear how these worked. Solo'd and if they made the mix, in the mix.

Really cool posibilities there.

I had a pretty good tracking session today. I tried Bleen's U87 BD better/SD bottom thing, and my new Aseyer L36B overheads.

I like to track Drums in the Volkshaus Studio Basel very much. The big room has a unbelievable great acoustics. But there is also a Stage that can be acoustically isolated from the big room (picture 3).

Picture 1 and 2 was the Project "Siawaloma" by Swiss Jazz Singer "Lisette Spinnler".
Picture 3 was the drum tracking of the Production "eine Frau" by Jasmin Tabatabai, produced by David Klein. The drummer in the Picture is Hans Dekker (Drummer from the acclaimed WDR Bigband).
