Techies Clearmountain & Bryan Adams attempting to troubleshoot a technical difficulty with one of the mics on Mickey Curry's drums (at Bryan's Warehouse Studios.) It turned out to be a crack in the diaphragm.

I had to go back to page 2 of the thread ... Ah, memories ... So, you're asking about this pic?

Those are Milab DC-96Bs arranged in coincident X-Y ... as I recall, we had tried positioning them above and below each other, so that the center of each capsule formed a sorta "X" shape ... but then I asked the assistant to move them like this, so that the capsules were as close to coincident, but in a sorta "V" shape as possible .. and found that the stereo image was a bit ... well ... stereo-er like this. Probably because it was not quite as phase-coherent as in the top-bottom "X" config ... Rules, schmules, we went with this.

Hope that answers your question!

And wow. .. coming back to this thread has been a bit traumatic, as there really is no way to un-see Bob Clearmountain's buttcrack ... ... the horror

Depends. If it's the thermostat or the circulator fan motor I could probably help you out. If it's the compressor, I doubt I can do much.

hey....you took my drum mic setup !!

this is the EXACT setup i have used SO many times..although often using a royer stereo ribbon in place of the sm69...which i have only had the pleasure of using a few times.

i wish i had all of those mics in my personal room !!

your room looks stunning, paul.

Thanks JC,
The funny thing is, up till just a few days ago, the room mic was always a Royer SF-12...( I have two and LOVE THEM)
But I just recently purchased the SM69 Friday from a fellow slut.
So this is new to me
Can't wait to hear it~!
