Check this out... new bad-ass compressor !

How's this for a d**k-extension ?

******//www.elysia.com/alpha_compressor.13.0.html

Apparently just introduced to the market. Claims to be the finest compressor ever, even the psu is discrete. Wonder how it sounds ?

But all joking aside, go to the Details and Technology sections and you can click on the tiny photos to get some good views of the guts of this thing. That is some serious hardware.

Yeah, mouth watering serious hardward at a jaw dropping price. I've been fighting the "I want's" on this piece for a while, now.

I'd guess 10k+ easy.

Going to interesting to see how this thing does.

I don't know, I think they're trying to keep the price more accessible, and more competitive with what's out there -

I bet they'll have it for around $7500 - $8500, U.S.

No insider info here, just a hunch.

But does it really matter? They posted in that other thread that the knobs really do

glow bright blue. Not only that, there appears to be a control for it as well.

I gotta have it.

Or maybe you could put a RNC in there, in case a client wants to hear it...

I think this from the website sums it up:

"These benefits result in an audio quality that is beyond all doubt"

Yes, there's audio.

It surely is a thing of beauty - inside and out. No expense spared by the look of it! Does anyone know if they are shipping thme yet?

My German friend told me that guys are pretty serious about this gear and have ongoing final testing in real studio conditions. So far seems they're on right track.

Sure looks interesting, and flashy...a little cold to my tastes, I wouldn't feel like producing Raggae or Soul with this thing next to me.

But I'm sure it'll fit those HD3-rigged-with-glowing-control-surfaces-studios very well.

I'd love to hear the sound though.

alpha compressor at AES Paris!

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to let you know that we'll have the alpha compressor at the AES show in Paris.

And here is the good news: you can listen to it in the gearslutz lounge (stand 1829) - as close as it can get!

See you there...
