The legendary BA-660! Dare I say of Fairchild myth?

I'm getting one! Man, just damn excited and wanted to shout it from the highest mountain tops! Anyone know about this amazing unit? A legend... dare I say beyond the Fairchild myth

If anyone has experience/owns one, I'd love to know your long-term thoughts about its use. My brief encounter was, well religious and hence, I jumped into the deep deep end of Gear-sluttiness!

50 units were made, sold by Sweetwater and then production was halted as there was no financing to continue.

The BA-660 [which I named] was made by Greg Hanks who has gone on to do bigger and better things with his time.

The unit had an unbelievable amount of headroom, the pre-amp was clear as a bell, and the compression characteristics went from "transparent" to "aggressive" but were equally musical despite their character differences.

It is one unit I sincerely wished I could have afforded at the time and to this day continue to wish I had one.

Greg is a genius to say the least... but alas he had to move his talents to an industry that appreciates that kind of genius with financial remuneration, which this industry does not.

I hope Greg has found happiness in his new endeavors as his contributions to "professional audio" are indeed sorely missed.
