which current production gefell is like a U47?

i know it wouldn't be exactly like a u47, i was just wondering which would be closest?

--UM75 (this one is out of the question because only 75 made and will be sold out by the time i could buy one)
--M990
--UM92.1S
--UM900

thanks

the um92.1s and the Umt 70s have the m7 capsule from the u47, but both are slightly different from the u47 i heared. But this is not first hand info, so check maybe the site of microtech to find more info

IMO the UM57/75 is the closest to the U47, but it's still quite different. The other mics are brighter & cleaner (they still sound super sweet, don't get me wrong), they just aren't anything close to the character of the U47 nor do I think they are intended to be. The Soundelux E47c is the closest I've personally heard to the real deal (I haven't heard the Korby or the Wagner).

UM57 is. UM75 is new. It's about $5K. The UM57 can be had for around $2000-$2500.

I tried UM75 quite a lot. It has rather subtle sound with not much bottom. I compared it to Horch and it was a completely different animal ... If you think of U47, you should try Horch .... You can listen to these two mics here: ******//gearslutz.com/board/showthrea...ighlight=horch
