Looking for a 16 channel AD/DA for $3500 or less

Hey guys,

Basically what the title says. I'm look for 16ch of high quality AD/DA. I just need some ideas so I can do a shootout for myself. I really can't find anything for around that price. I've found an Apogee Symphony for around that price, but I'm sure I'm overlooking some awesome gear! It seems to be cheap or really expensive. I've been a long time lurker, so I'd figure I'd ask you guys for some ideas. Thanks!

I personally don't have any experience with high end converters, but the Lynx Aurora 16 seems to be well regarded by all and definitely within your budget. Sorry I cant be of more assistance.

You may consider an HD24XR with a mod by Audio Upgrades. Then you will have 24 channels of very nice converters. About $1500 for the unit and $750 for the upgrade.

If a console is in the picture, a Tascam DM3200 is a great value for the price. Not to be confused with the older DM models. 32 channels of conversion via firewire. Automated faders, a nice control surface as well as 16 channels of pres. The pres are okay but the board allows the use of your fave outboard gear as well

You can get 24 i/o currently of the SSL Alpha Link MADI AX including the PCIe MADIExtreme 64 card and cable for well under budget. We can have lots of things here, and chose this system.

Awesome.
