If somebody put their drink on my console like that, they would never step foot in my studio again. I would probably run their head through the wall numerous times. before I did so, I would set up a room mic and record it just so I'll be satisfied considering nothing can justify that kind of ignorance. WOW... You can see drops of water going down into the faders.

Hi

Funny enough, back when I worked for Neve my hobby was restoring old aircraft at nearby Duxford/Imperial War Museum. My pet project was a Vickers Viscount turbo prop airliner from the mid 1950's.

Besides ash trays for every seat, it did not have lockers over the seats but rather a mesh shelf that you put your stuff in. Every seat had an elliptical window that was also an escape path, and, above the pilot's windscreen was a Decca Navigator preceder of 21st century GPS consisting of a rolling paper map with a pointer that showed the position on the map.

Memories.....

i would flip my shit.

NEVER EVER EVER put your drink AND your ashtray on my shit. AND never smoke in the presence of my gear, ever.

and then he would whip out his checkbook, buy the place and promptly kick my ass out on the curb, finishing the album treating the gear however he damn well pleased.

^ fixed it.

it's a little more then that. it's an expensive piece of equipment that cigarette ashes and water should not be in.

if you ever bought a console and promptly cleaned it you know what i mean. it's like cleaning out someones used couch.

I am actually most interested in the multi-rainbow looking colored piece to the right, what is that thing i see it in lots of studios but have no idea what it is; some sort of EQ?

Yeah, I think he uses an ST Dupont.
Up there with the best of the best.
No chance getting good results without a pen in that league.

even if something happens clients like these can pay for repair not big deal.
He may be able to pay for a repair, but it's still gonna grind the session to a halt, and possibly screw up session for other clients if that's his last scheduled day.
