Thread Starter | Royer 101??
Hey guys I'm desperately looking for a royer 101 for a recording I'm doing and can't seem to find one anywhere in the uk. I can find the 121 model but i don't really want to spend that much to be completely honest. The mic is for recording guitar cabs and will be paired alongside a sm57 do u guys know of any good and fast suppliers in the uk?? Or any mic's that are better for 700 pounds Cheers |

| p.s.: 101`s, with cca.48dB, nominally "louder" than SF series, cca.-52dB, and thicker ribbon, 2.5 vs. 1.8, both w/ 300ohm output, where is the trick?? |

Coles 4038 my good man. The classic. Or the 4040. Not a lot of need/demand for those Royer thingies over here, 'tis why they don't sell i imagine. In all seriousness though, i'd get a Coles or a Beyer. Sending a mic to the states for a repair/ re-ribbon is going to be an expense and a hassle involving customs forms explaining that it's a mic being returned to country of origin for repair, and not to be charged duty, same on the way back, it's just unnecessary hassle when you have Coles and Zee Germans here in the EU. Sending your 4038 in just involves popping to the post office. Edit; yes i know the Royers are robust but still, 4038s can/do live for years in front of guitar amps..you can angle it down 45 degrees and use a pop screen in front. |

or email/call stefan at KMR and he'll sort it out for you https://www.kmraudio.com/brands/royer.php where did you actually look? i'd think funky junk and KMR are the two most obvious choices in the UK
