Thread Starter | AMS NEVE 1073 DPD or Chandler Germanium?
I am about 10 days away from receiving my Brauner VMA and I use Amek CIB pre's Great Pre's but a tad to neutral at times. Which would be better suited to be an opposite to the Amek's. 1073 DPD or Germanium? Many thanks! Paul Blenn |

If you can afford a VMA and a 1073 DPD I'd say dig a little deeper and get the Germanium, as well. C'mon! Be a slut!!!

I am about £1 away from being made single by my girlfriend. I am tempted though! But for now I need to make a choice. Paul

Well do you have nice converters? Do you need two channels? Digital connectivity? My Germanium sounds amazing, but having two 1073 preamps with a step up in conversion would be a pretty huge upgrade. |

Hmmm......Choices, choices..... Dump the girlfriend! No, I'd say go for the Neve. The Germanium is a reasonably priced preamp. Buy your girlfriend some roses next Valentines day and buy yourself a Germanium. Tell her you bought yourself a geranium!

The Germanium is a great pre- the opposite in term of sound to the Amek. I haven't tried the Neve DPD

For all instruments, the Germanium is great. For vocals, the DPD is among the tops. JGee
