The Naked Eye is indeed a great mid-level ribbon, although I'm not a huge fan of the response of that mic ON THE REAR. There is some kind of slightly phase-y sounding thing happening in the mids where it seems to be missing something...kind of a hole there.

The FRONT of the mic however I find to be quite good, and of course isn't as bright on top like every other figure 8 ribbon out there. The Naked Eye isn't as woofy in the low end as some other ribbons either.

The Proscenium I have experience with and can tell you it is WORLDS better than the Naked Eye, anybody looking to really step it up in the world of ribbons would be amazed by the Proscenium methinks. Both sides of that mic offer real versatility and an even response that just rocks. Between that mic and a good EQ you could conquer many, many tasks from voice to instrument to amps.

Build quality from the mics to the cases is top notch.

So you're saying its more even sounding than the chinese ribbons (I dont like too much bottom anyway, always have to get it out anyway) built better, but mid-level IYO, not quite a Royer?
How is the front side on cabs? Ever heard either side on vocals?

Here's the polar front vs back response with some explanation of why it's like that

I'm so damned interested in trying the Naked Eye. I might just have me one very soon. Where to demo?

The Sontronics Sigma is actually a fair bit cheaper than the C&T Naked Eye but it doesnt have the dual voicing capabilities which make the Naked Eye such a flexible studio microphone.
