Studio Pics

The recording equipment at my school has been in storage while the building was renovated. It has returned and we are working on the install. Definitely not as nice as Diamond Dave's or Stevep's, but I thought you guys might want to have a look at the gear.

The console is an MCI-JH600. We have spent the last two days going through it killing bugs. It is behaving exactly like one would expect a console that hasn't been turned on in 3-4 years. Lots of the things that we were told were broken (I'm new at the school) are really due to dirty and loose connection points.

Good news and bad news about the cabling. It's all very organized, just very customized and very unlabeled. Would be nice if the last person had taken notes about how everything was routed.

Enough babbling. Here's the pics. It's a mess now. Sorry.

It's all coming back to me now.

All those hours of aligning and realigning machines. Day after day.

At least that's one nice thing about digital. No spending an hour a day aligning tape machines.

Nice setup!
It remi9nds me of the UofAs studio when I went there. They had an earlier MCI that didn't have panable busses but Oh...what a mic collection!

Here are the best of our mics. We have a few Audix "Drum" collections and, of course, Shure SM 57 and 58's. Not really worth the photographing (if that's a word).
