Thread Starter | Daking FET III - Stereo Summing?
hey slutz, I'm very close to purchasing a FET III, but I have a question about the stereo summing. When in stereo mode, does one side of the compressor control the entire unit? Or do both sides trigger compression equally on both channels? If it is the latter, should I attempt to match the parameters when working in stereo or should I leave one side uncompressed and let the other side trigger compression for the entire unit? Thanks in advance. |

| Lives for gear |
I own a FET III and love, i mean love this box. Put simply I haven't done a session without it on something. I use it alot on a stereo guitar buss to "GLUE" all my guitars together. The variable linking is nothing short of amazing. I always find an in-between setting that work perfectly, when all the way stereo or mono simply wont work. below is from the manuel. Good Luck From the Fet III manuel "Your compressor can be used as two single mono channel compressors or linked together into a variable stereo pair. The knob controls a mono to stereo pan matrix that blends the left and right channel sidechain signals together. This allows the compressors of both channels to compress at the same time and in the same way. One important concept of the Link feature is that the audio feeding the sidechain is the affected audio, NOT the audio that you hear. |
