ID of Telefunken Amp

Hello All

Im new here so please go easy on me. I know a little about Telefunken amps and such. I picked a unit from a boot sale, it was preowned by a rather famous audio Scientist. Im not sure exactly what typoe of amp it is , was wondering if anyone knew ?......
Please have a look , any comments much appreciated. I have looked up all the usual suspects but none seem to match. It has 8 pin inputs and outputs with a 3 pin tuchel and power wired to one and the other was chopped off. Its missing two valves ( EF12 ? ) and has one EF40 in place. It may be custom Im not sure. Please see pictures :

Looks to me like a TAB / Maihak / Telefunken loudspeaker amplifier with microphone pre-amp.
In those days also used as a disc cutting amplifier.
I remember that on these big heavy "modules" one eight pin connector was for the input, the other eight pin connector was for the output AND mains power connection !!!
On the front panel: Is that a switch (howmany steps ??) or a pot ?

It does not look as a "custom" item to me.

..also looks very much (mechanically) like the EMT140 electronics module - but different tubes and so on. Maybe an early plate-reverb driver?

Even very early EMT plate mono amps had more tubes, different connectors and no gain control or switch on the front panel.
I am sorry I have to disagree with you...

The mechanical size does not help much as a lot of German Broadcast equipment had the same "looks" untill they changed to the cassette size.

A photograph of the internal components would be very much appreciated in trying to determine that unit.

You're right - the module standard also looks like a lot of the old Klangfilm units.

And yes, good-quality inside pics will help a lot.

That is no really a coincidence, because originally Klangfilm was owned by Siemens and AEG.
And AEG owned Telefunken, so all adds together quite nicely.
The German and European broadcast and studio world was a nice small world then.

I found a little sticker inside, its a Telefunken V46d !
Took some photos of inside anyway. I have contacted Zentrum für analoge Rundfunk-Tontechnik- funkstunde.com as they say they have most of the spec/service sheets for German Broadcast equipment of this era.

Its related to the Magnetophone/Telefunken K8/T8 servies reel to reel decks that I can find a small amount of data on. They are early 50's late 40's r2r decks, this would make sense as the guy who owned this ( FWO Bauch ) helped with the development of the magnetic tape at the time ( went on to distribute Studer and EMT in uk including equipment to Abbey Road ) Did have a chance to buy a deck but passed up as it was huge and I was searching for the elusive microphones....

pic2: there seems to be a wire AND a 50pf capacitor hanging loose...

Hints could be e.g.: ******//www.razyboard.com/system/more...3045470-0.html

..or better - ask at the forum at magnetofon.de?
