A small mixer for drum mixing purposes?

I'm a bit lost here so help is appreciated. Here are the facts:

- I need to add 8(+) channel mixer to my studio setup.
- I'm running out of space, so it has to be rack mountable or small enough so that it can sit comfortably on top of a rack.
- My intention is to use it only for drum mixing/processing:
--- parallel processing using 2 x Distressor
--- the mix is fed to API 2500
--- maybe some EQ in between
- Drums will be fed to the mixer from my computer.
- My budget can go up to 2500 euros (or so) if needed.
- Since my intention with HW processing is to add nice color to the sound in the first place, it doesn't really matter if the mixer isn't transparent sounding (as long as it sounds good).

Judging from my above list, I'd need a couple of aux channels and at least one insert for the compressors?

Any suggestions for a suitable mixer for my needs?

go to Larking's list web site and click on latest arrival.
There is a AD 128 mixer there that would fit the bill perfectly.
Real good stuff and Don is a real gentleman.
Best of luck

Oli

Consider the TL Audio Tubetracker M1 (TL Audio M1-F - Tubetracker 8 or 12 Input Mixer) or a used Tubetracker M3.

I think there's also a soundworkshop 1280 for sale in the classifieds.

Soundcraft made a small 8x4x2 rack mount Delta console that sold new for $5000. I see them go for around 500 bucks.
