Now the slutty thing to say here would be "get them all"

But honestly if you can afford it, its not as ridiculous as it sounds.

I own all 4 you mentioned and they all have their place on specific sources, in specific mixes. And every day that i use them, i learn them even more and find more specialized situations for a particular preamp. At this level of equipment , its a game of inches, and being able to have a few or more different great preamps to choose from can give you those extra inches when every track in the mix was tracked with the most appropriate possible preamp.

Got my A-Designs EM silver today....it rawks!!

Alot thicker in low mids than the P1, darker, yet still punchy and big sounding.
I have only tried it on bass, but have some gits to do tonite, and vocals tomorrow.

I am very impressed with the A-Designs pres that I have checked out, all 2 of 'em.
Big and Open is what both of them sound like, with a'lil tonal variation on each.
This makes me wonder, if the Blue has more nickle sound than the Gama on Nickel?

AdamJay, you had a blue right? Did you have the mono Gama at the same time?

Man, I'm gonna need a bigger lunchbox
