Thread Starter | Reattaching VU meter on 1176?
I have a UREI 1176 Rev H whose meter has fallen into the unit. It looks like there are two pieces - a black trim rectangle with two metal side flanges, that slides in fron the front, and the VU itself in a plastic housing, which sites behind the front plate. I can't see how the VU meter is supposed to attach to that front trim, or how the whole thing normally stays in place.. anyone know? |

Tough to describe. Is there another 1176 or la3 you could look at to see how it works? The meter is held in place by two metal tabs attaché to the small bolts on the back of the meter. The metal piece you mentioned (there should be two) is glued to each side of the meter frame. The frame goes in from the front and the meter slides between the sides and there are pointed bolts that screw into the end of the tabs coming off the meter that are tighten just enough to hold the meter in place. Shipping an 1176 without securing the meter inside often causes the frame to break. I have been able to superglue the metal side pieces back onto the frame and remount the meter, but it depends on how damage the plastic frame is. Good luck If you want a replacement frame and meter let me know. I have a bunch of spare vu's for sale. |
