Chandler TG2 vs. Purple Audio Biz for guitars

I got a pair of Biz and love it, and we plan soon to add a TG2 to our mic pre collection (that will bring us to 13 high-end killer pres with API, Purple, A-Designs, ...).

I found the Purples to be very pleasant on every source that go into them : clean, super defined top and bottom end, warm meds. Lovely.

How does the Biz compare to the TG2 from Chandler ?
Anyone having both here ?
I'd really love to hear the sonic differences and what the Chandler brings more than the Biz to guitars, since the last one is really appreciated for that around there.

Bump!

Yeah I know it's an ancient thread and all but still...

Anyone compared these two now that the Biz has been out longer?

Depends on what you're going for. The "Biz" is a fair amount faster than the TG2, and is more aggressive in the midrange (especially with the dual switch engaged). The TG2 definitely has more info in the bottom octave and is a little scooped just above that. Makes it completely bananas on kick and snare. They're both gonna work on your typical overdriven/distorted guitar. The microphone selection and positioning will be more critical than the pre in this case.

In all actuality you can't go wrong in either direction. They're just two completely different sounding and operating mic pres.
