Thread Starter | Dolby 361 Problem
I just received a Dolby 361 I bought on ebay and there appears to be a problem with the monitor buttons. Both the normal and check buttons are pressed in and I can't get either to pop back out. I assume only one is supposed to be pushed in at a time (they should toggle?) I've never used a 361 before and I haven't had a chance to run audio through this one yet, so I don't know how this will affect things. Any input would be much appreciated. Nic |

From memory, I think it may be fine. I recall the check button being latching and is to check one of the audio paths. (I think it should be left out most of the time) and the other four switches latch together. There must be a manual of the web somewhere. Even at Dolby perhaps.

That s strange, it might have receive a good impact cause i am trying to push them together with moderate force and they both stay up. I ve used that unit for few years and it s always been on NORMAL I know, not much help but how does the machine behave , is it encoding ,decoding or bypass? |

The check button on the 361 is a total relay-connected hardware bypass for playback. You'll get the same results the Dolby is turned off (power is unplugged). The Check button was designed for people who need to check a "stretched" tape while it's recording but they only own a single Dolby and it's in record mode. Hope this helps, BK

I have two of those units, one of the buttons won't stay in, and it became momentary. I am guessing those buttons have problems. If you are using it to excite vocals it would be useless a feature, then you can just open it up and disconnect that button for the time being. www.bluethumbproductions.com | |
