Yes... very much so. These are VERY classic speakers.
Late 70s early 80s JBLs very best at that time
The hardest part will be the crossover. I hope its there.
Best of luck.
They have been mounted in the wall of this place I recently got. Yes, really in perfect contition minus not original/jbl woofers & missing 1 supertweeter. Crossovers there. Even found the horn diffusors.
you will find they actually sound better soffit mounted then free standing (obviously) but only IF the soffit is built correctly . . . . also dependent on the replacement (non original components)

Well, I can't keep them in the room they were in. I've been in the process of building/restoring a ollld facility. The guy who has the room they are in wants em gone. I took them! Appears to be generic woofers. Actually dug around and found 3 MESSED up 2231H & 1 New 2202H & the supertweeter clamps.
So close on getting these to original now. One last things I need is an external Xover for the amps. I found a JBL 5234 ELECTRONIC CROSSOVER which was made for these? It says it has the 1200Hz cards. Would these be best or should i go with an Ashley or one of the DBX Driveracks?
The Driverack 260 is a VERY versatile piece of equipment.
I have reverse engineered several proprietary active crossover units and used a 260 in their place with great results.
I drag a 260 along on almost every live event I do from arenas, sports compexes, corporate and too many music mixing events to recall.
In fact, I just installed my personal unit in a big install and I think I am going to have gto repace it ASAP!
