Hey Slutz---im in search of someone to send my projects to for mastering. Im tired of mastering and fill it is a little of a weakness for me. The better the project sounds the better my name looks. Hey MREVOL,

There are many really good mastering engineers out there. Where are you located? Chances are there will be someone good fairly close so you could do an attended session. Its not necessary to attend in my mind but if you are particular about how things sound it is good to get the paramters established.

Best,
Silas

have a browse around the forum, there are many people with mastering studios (i.e. brad blackwood, etc).

if you look in high end, chris athens from sterling sound has been hanging around. maybe pm him! (masterer)

Sterling Sound is great and they offer many different options accomodating the Indie artist. I believe they do after hours for $100 per song.

Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering is very, very good indeed. Excellent communication and he does thoughtful work.

He is also an active Gearslutz contributor.

Well recommended.

I second the recommendation for Brian Lucey! He's got great gear, great ears, and great prices. Plus he's just a darn cool guy.

Brad
Some of his most recent posts regarding Fletcher would beg to differ. I personally have nothing against him, but all the bickering and bullshit that goes on in this forum should stop ASAP.

I don't know if Andy VanDette is still at Masterdisc - but he's great, and super nice, and his rates are more than affordable. Definitely worth at least a call and meeting, if he's still doing it.

Good luck

Brad Blackwood has done the last 6 projects of mine. Always makes me look good!

Oh, and He always sends me a Starbucks gift certificate and a stuffed animal on every project too!

I feel a little jittery.

thanks Brad.

mastering guy

I suggest checking out Larry Lachmann at Integrated Studios in NYC. He used to work at Sterling Sound and with Herb Powers at Powers House of Sound. Great guy, great mastering engineer.

If you want to keep it in San Francisco, Mike Wells...

For top-tier stuff, I like the work of Brad Blackwood and Dave Collins (though I've only personally worked with Brad).

All 3 are super nice, too.

There's a lot of guys... You have the good folks who frequent the forum like John "MASSIVE" Script and Brad Blackwood... Then you have Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering... There's Sterling Sound, which is the most recognized name you will probably find. It all depends on your budget, I guess..
