Now dishwashers on the other hand - this is the way forward, and if we want to get at the essence of what it means to mechanically "wash dishes", we're going to need some serious gear.
Yerba, you are a god among men! Golf clap to you sir!!! Well done.

When it comes to putting mics on appliances, the obvious question is, "What would Geddy Lee do?"

Can't be arsed to fine-tune 8 jokes, so

1) Dishwasher- something about adding some plate.
2) Fridge- something about how cold and sterile digital sometimes beats analogue warmth.
3) Microwave - something about brain-melting volume levels.
4) Blender - something about the new Avenson box for parallel compression.
5) Bread Maker - something about Ebay and rip-off Paypal charges.
6) Oven (electric) - something about analogue warmth beating digital.
7) Toaster - something about Reggae.
8) Kettle - something about kettle drums (sorry I'm getting really low on ideas now.)

Get a hydrophone for the dishwasher. Place it inside. Use cold water and you will be ok.

After a bit of home work ....

Earthworks claims on their site that Amon is using the QT30, with a link to that very video. (head scratch)

QTC30 | Earthworks Audio

But I found this interview where he says he is using the earthworks M50, which is their measurement mic.

Amon Tobin, Richard Thomas

And yes, according to the interview it is a Nagra IV-S.
