Phase / Polarity Switch

Hi All,

I've had a good search and couldnt find my answer so i hoped someone could maybe explain to me.....

I'm looking at buying the waves api550a, and noticed it (and several other waves eq's) have a 'phase reverse' button on them.

I was wondering what does this do exactly? And how would it be useful in situations?

Apologies if this has been asked before, i don't like to spam the boards.

1. it reverses the phase.
2. it is useful for reversing the phase.
