rosetta 800 a/d noise test?

This is a copy of my post on the duc.....

So for fun I did a record of silence (input cable plugged into Neutrik passive patchbay with nothing connected)....then used the audiosuite gain to bump the recorded audio up 50db in RMS mode

What I got was somewhat interesting to me, but maybe this is normal

$hit....i dunno how to post somwthing on my ftp.....guess this will have to wait till tommorow when i can get the guy whos knows how to do post it..... haha

And you should really not test the input open ended. Add resistors, 600 Ohm or so, from pin 2 to pin1 and from pin 3 to pin1. This is more resembling the situation where the unit is really used. Open input will always punish a high impedance input circuit as it is bound to collect more stray radio stuff than in real use.
