Please help with a guitar kit

I have:
Guitar amp head Koch Powertone II 120 W
Speakersimulator Palmer 03
Eventide Eclipse

After Palmer 03 I need a pre. What would you advise for practice/ recording?
I am thinking about buying an API 7600 channel strip or a lunchbox staffed with API 200s or 500s.
I play rock/ metal

Question #2. I need to choose a mic for recording a nylon classical guitar.

Thanks!

Are you sure you need a Microphone Preamp with the Palmer? I don't own that device, but I would expect it to have a Line Output.

Trying the same sort of thing, I use a Sequis Motherload Speaker Simulator, incidentally designed by the same blokes as the original Palmer I believe.
I would use a great tube pre like a DW Fearn VT1 and stick an old U87 through it for the classical guitar work.
A good hot pentode tube pre, will always make me smile.
What about a Telefunky V72 in a box but the fearn is red and very beautiful and has a meter and everything right there kind of like the box on the right:

RCA OP-6 goes up to 20 man!.

Palmer 03 is a passive unit it eats the signal from the amp head. I need a pre after it.

I have Telefunken V72 module but no connectors for it. Just the unit, I need to put it into a decent rack. And I would like to save it for future serious recording, not for everyday practice.
