Thread Starter | SOS!!! HELP me to do the right thing!!
HI MY fellow GEARSLUTZ~!~! im a PRODUCER / engineer and im looking around to buy a monitor speaker that would satisfy my neads for mixing .... i produce pop ,dance , RNB, RAP, ballad so what would u guys recommend me to buy ? the budget is not a problem...... but my control room is not that big ... its aboout 13 square meters and that why im having difficultys to choose a speaker.... and i have a genelec 8040a its not bad.... but i used 1030a befor and ilke 1030a better..... and i heard some good thing about the mackie 824 / 624.... and adam a7... so what would u guys recommend ? |

If you can afford the Genelecs, go for it, they're damn good. Personally I love Mackie HR824s and I've wanted to try a pair of Yamaha HS80ms for a while because they look great on paper and I've heard nothign but good things and they're at a great price. |

Depends what your budget allows and the size of your room. I haven't used the 6s myself so I don't know what the bass is like but in a small room, the 8s could easily blow you away. Also note, I'm basing this opinion on the originals, not MkIIs - the oldies are also cheaper on eBay than MKIIs new. |

Really depends on the style of music if you asked me. Hey, if budget isn't a problem... get 2 or 3 sets... like active genelec & dynaudio, and some passive proac's with a bryston amp.
__________________ For mixing, Voxengo SPAN is my most often used tool... it's great when your ears tell you there's something wrong but you can't quite turn the right knob (and it's FREE too!!) |
