Thread Starter | Presto A93 Limiter
I just acquired a Presto A93 Limiter. An engineer friend of mine said they are pretty cool pieces of gear. It needs a little love in order to come back to life, but it's in really good shape. According to my research, they were made in N.Y in the early 1950's. My question is, have any of you worked with this limiter? If so, what can I expect once it's up and running? |

I think the limiter is the 41. The 92 and 93 are power amps.

I have all the Presto documentation. Let me know if you need help. Pictures would help.

I just received an email from Alan Graves. He has a sight dedicated to the history of Presto and the gear. Here was his email response.. "The A93 is a recording power amp. It contains the pre-emphasis curve (close to the inverse RIAA curve) and can also be used as a flat power amplifier. IT is not a limiter. I have a 8 page manual and schematic for $5.00 postage paid (in US). The A93 was the last model of recording amp made by Presto in late 50's and early 60's. It was rated to be 30 watts of power. It also had the provision for an automatic equalizer built in if such a device was installed on the lathe." Thank you guys for responding. |
