Thread Starter | JBL LSR6328p good for classical music?
Are the JBL LSR6328p good for classical music? From the sos review it's seems they are a good all rounder as he said. Just wanted to make sure there was not anything wrong with them for that particular style of music. Thanks. |

Do you know what sort of frequency response you're looking for or something? Otherwise, I'm not sure they have a preference on genre. ![]() Morgan |

Just want to make sure it's an OK choice for that particular genre thats all. I don't necessarily want the best speaker for classical music either. Just want to make sure it's not a bad choice and make sure I'm not missing anything. Yes I'm not expert. I don't maybe a pair of Adams would give me more details and more important for classical music. I don't know.I'd rather her people's opinion before i pull the trigger. Cant listen to them here... |

And since orchestral and acoustic instruments are prevalent in film scores i guess that means I'll be OK. I figured they'd be perfect for me but got nervous at the last minute... Thanks much.

Personally, I never liked JBL for classical. My choices would have been Neumann/K+H, ATC, Harbeth, PMC and Geithein.

my LSR2328's have proven themselves worthy on classical projects I've done. I am thoroughly pleased with them.

Thread Starter | That's interesting. I wonder if you were able to compare the 2328 with the 4328, did you? I ask cause I'm also interested in the 4328 for $ reasons... They seem pretty similar to the 4328 minus the gadgets and with less power. Anyone feel free to comment about that.

I love our JBL LSR6328's... when purchasing I A/B'd against various Dynaudio models, our old Mackie's, and the JBL 4328's. I couldn't stand the 4328's, to be honest. The 6328's sound great. Of course, you could use just about anything... it's all about getting to know your speakers in your room. |

Pleeeeeaase, whatever you do, don't audition monitors in a retail showroom. Buy some, take them home or to wherever you mix. Buy from somewhere that has a return policy or will place a hold on your credit card and let you leave with a set or two. By the way, the comparison made between the 2300 and 4300 series refers to the 4300's with the active room correction dsp off. |

But I'm curious to know what was different about the 4328? I'm surprise cause i hear they had a very similar sound. Cheers.

The only hesitation i have now is due to the different tweeter use in both models. The 6328 use a titanium tweeter while the 4328 uses soft silk dome. I ask cause i often read soft silk dome are smoother than metal dome. But i know it's not alswasy the case. I didn't reed anything that would indicate that was the case with 6328, can those of you who heard them comment on that? Cheers. |

So it looks like I'm gonna go with the 6328. I feel it's a pretty same move considering the price(used) and that they will give me more bass and a better, more pleasing experience that my HS50m. Which is what i really wanted. I'm sure the HS50m will be useful too(like to the NS10 are hopefully) but i could,t used those full time(aouch!) I also have a set of Auratone C5 on the way so i feel if i cant get good mix with these 3 sets it'll my fault. I considered going for a 3-way set earlier and then i realized what i really wanted was to fix my near field problem. I'm a little surprise to see the LSR 6328 don't get much love around here. I did a search before didn't find a whole lot feedback either. Mostly positive thou. Thanks everyone. |
