If that wasn't a high end studio, I don't think anything is high end!? That used to be Evergreen, and then the Enterprise, both super high end, and it looked like LA Sound Gallery spent major bucks improving it even more. Too bad it's gone.

Add Extasy Recording where I used to work(formerly One on One), but not really open to the public anymore. Also Royaltone which is private. Seems like alot of high end facilities are now only for inhouse use for producers or artists.

um, yeah - at least a couple of the places mentioned are closed or gone private.

The original Evergreen was truly high-end, and it went down from there. The last tenant in that historic building was definitely NOT high end, although they acted like it. I did a walkthrough of the place with a realtor (it's in a bankruptcy sale) recently. I would guess it would take well into 7-figures to make it a real, viable studio again, and there are still basic problems (small CR, lack of bathrooms, layout, iso booths...)

Yes, there aren't many true high-end places left. But the few that are open are very busy because of that.
