Daking Mic Pre 4 for drums?

Hi there, until now I've been recording drums in a "pro" studio but as I'm going to move my "home" studio to a bigger place, I'm considering recording drums myself... I've read people here praising the daking pres and I have to say they seems interesting and AFFORDABLE!!!! They are not available in the uk as far as I know, so I can't demo them...but I'm going to be in Canada in April and I can have them shipped to me there.

So.... any good results on drums? I want to record drums with the 4 mics technique.

cheers

It would not be my first choice for kick drum but overall its a tough unit to beat.

You NEVER see the daking 4 bangers up for sale used.

People buy em.... people keep em.

I believe they ARE available in the UK. Not sure exactly where but email Geoff Daking from his site; or a similar time zone you can call Raf at Joystick in Belgium.

i love dakings for crisp and crunchy agressive drum sounds. and i've used them on kick, snare, toms, and oh. not sure how they would fair if you're going for warm and pretty.
