I usually program a global "Match" and a global "Play" button on the second macro layer of User Defined Functions on the 9k. It's very useful for head mutes and stuff. Anyone else using these in ways that makes your job easier? How so? I keep trying to talk some tech's into hooking up a disco ball to one of them, but so far, no bites. |

Hi e-cue, While mixing, I use the new v.5 macros all the time...esp. the ones that let me switch to MixAll (ex-Static) and MixEnd (ex-Overwrite) during a pass just for certain faders...while leaving the others in Rollback/Join. Very handy. Also the dedicated LevelTrim (ex-Offline Trim) button...no more going into the menus...saves lots of pen stabs. Haven't felt the need (or taken the time) yet to program any custom macros beyond the new ones. For global mutes, I usually direct Group Faders 1-7 to GF 8, so muting GF 8 lets me mute the whole mix pretty easily, or GF 1-7 for section-by-section muting. What would be the advantage to doing it with global match/play...for muting the small faders too? Or something else?
