just for giggles why doesn't ANYONE with nintendo do the bounce with and without and post the files??? Then we can all null or not to our hearts content....

There's a simple cure for all the jokes:

do the bounces, post the files, or send them to Lynn, or do rockum's blind test:

Leave the room- have some one set it to grey or color and turn off the computer monitor - then come back in and see if you can reliably pick which one it is.

I guarantee you that if Rigo had posted in his first post that "in a blind A/B/X test we got it right every time" or "the bounced files failed to null" there would be few snarky comments and lots of people would be seriously helping him look for an answer.

I doubt that Rigo is going to quit the business because the gearslutz are joshing about his find. I wager his hopes and dreams are intact. But if you want to be taken seriously with a claim like this, do the tests.

Insisting on scientific methodology is not cynicism.
Hello, please learn to take a joke... my comments were referring to the fact that almost every single person had something that was either funny, smartass, or just plain cynical to say about his find. If I had Nuendo, I would probably one of those people as well, but I don't really care. My post was poking fun at all of us, including myself. Lighten up my friend.

Sounded crappy too.
You must have gotten the wrong shade of brown then. Rupert Neve´s classic shade, "Neve-brown", just sounds great IMHO.

One of the nice things about a 32 bit float system.

useful? perhaps scientifically factual (i didn't test), but i dunno if very useful. as a humans guaranteed to make mistakes, mix this way enough times and you're bound to clip your plugs. unless you're not human, in that case go for it.

It's useful in the sense of knowing that your audio won't be compromised by either way of mixing, meaning you will be more free to concentrate on mixing than on technical issues like headroom in the mix engine.

Yeah, the 4 way. One with one color and original power cable, one with original and new power cable, one with new color and original power cable, and one with new colors and new power cable (this one should sound like a million bucks!)

Yes, thats what I meant. Its good to know that if you do go over, just pulling the master fader down a dB or 2, is equal to pulling a the channels down a bit. I've read a lot of debate about it and just a quiet little post like this from someone who actually DID THE TEST is very informative

Amen to that - exactly what I was thinking.

[EDIT]

I should have waited to post until I read the whole thread. At least I managed to spew the pepsi I was drinking back into the bottle rather than all over my monitor.

Carrots provide diffusion and tons of vitamin A. How could your mix NOT sound better with tons of beta carotene in the room?

I have yet to see a completely weird post of our valued slut lagerfeldt.
I know he can do it, but there is just too much useful info there in his brain...

Am I actually going to have to do the A/B test tomorrow???

I don't wanna.

If I find out that my mixes in colour would of sounded so much better in monochrome my clients are gonna kill me.

I'm going to ignore this thread.

I'm putting my fingers in my ears now and singing 'la la la la la'

...

Alright, I might do an A/B...

Am I mistaken or did Rigo disappear as soon as we started asking for copies?

Maybe he's busy reprinting all his mixes from the last five years in monochrome.

Dont forget that beta carotene enhances eye sight. Hmmmmmmmm. Now Im seeing the connection. Beta carotene- eye sight, eye sight- colors, colors- mixing, mixing-great sound.....etc. Man, I should have worked on Johnny Cochrans legal team for OJ, " If the carrot doesn't fit, you must aquit" or even better "if the carrot doesn't fit, you aren't hearing sh*t"
